Answers to the questions families ask most often.
We provide non-medical home care services including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance), companion care, homemaking, Alzheimer's and dementia care, post-hospital recovery support, and extended hour or overnight care. Home care is non-medical support for daily living: bathing, meals, companionship, housekeeping, and safety supervision. Home health care is medical care provided by licensed nurses and therapists, typically ordered by a physician. Many families use both services together. No. Non-medical home care does not require a doctor's order or referral. You can contact us directly and we will guide you through the process from there.
In most cases, we can have a caregiver in place within 24 to 48 hours of completing the initial assessment. If the situation is urgent, such as a hospital discharge, we prioritize placement and work to have someone available as soon as possible.
Care is tailored to the individual, including the level of support, schedule, and overall goals. Because of that, pricing is developed based on each specific situation rather than a fixed published rate. We are happy to talk through your needs and provide a clear, personalized plan so you know exactly what to expect. For more details, visit our Cost of Care page.
Long-term care insurance often covers non-medical home care services. Medicare generally does not cover non-medical home care, though it may cover skilled home health services ordered by a physician. Veterans may also qualify for the Aid and Attendance benefit. We can help you understand your coverage and coordinate with your insurance provider.
We select caregivers based on experience, reliability, temperament, and compatibility with the client. Before care begins, we conduct a thorough assessment and match the caregiver to the individual based on care needs, personality, and preferences. We assign a primary caregiver and a consistent backup so the client sees familiar faces every visit.
We will reassign a new caregiver at no additional cost. The relationship between the caregiver and client is essential to the quality of care, and we want every family to feel confident and comfortable with the person in their home.
Yes, we have a minimum of 4 hours per visit. This ensures the caregiver has enough time to provide meaningful support rather than rushing through tasks. Many families start with a few visits per week and adjust from there.
